BuildingBlocks International: Building Global Leaders through Public Service

You've spent your life building skills.  Ready to use them to change the world?

10% of Fortune 100 companies have service fellowships. Does yours?

BBI is an international nonprofit that is working with corporations to develop what Business Week calls a corporate "Peace Corps" and what we call corporate service fellowships. During a corporate service fellowship, employees work full time, for four weeks to a year, applying their management skills within community-based organizations around the world. BBI has convened top companies such as Pfizer, UPS, King & Spalding, PwC and Cisco, to improve the quality and increase the quantity of such fellowships.

To date, approximately 2,500 corporate employees have participated in corporate service fellowship programs - our goal is to more than double this number to 5,000 within the next five years. As some companies are just beginning to explore corporate service fellowships, BBI provides some shorter term opportunities for corporate employees to connect with social change agents. Imagine the impact on business, social and international policy when most future business leaders engage in a personally transformative experience in a marginalized area of the US or a developing country.

"This is the most challenging personal and professional experience I have ever had."
